- L. Minten2024-07-08Boots as in singular
Will sure beat running cold water down a swollen leg or trying to wrap ice packs on an unwilling horse. This is a well made and designed wrap. The best feature is the actual ice inserts as they are contoured to fit a horses leg well. Will accommodate different sizes and front or back. Velcro is strong and has a double wrap system to keep it secure. At first I thought they made a bit mistake as I didn't see that the pack slipped into a pocket on both the top and bottom. I only saw the top at first and thought how dumb it was because the packs would just slide out. My bad because they do have a sleeve that fully covers the ice pack. One suggestion - when you receive it adjust the gell in the pack to even it out and thin it a bit if needed before you freeze it. I wish I had one of these over the forty years I have had horses cause I have spent hours holding a hose. Price seemed reasonable too - very happy with the order.
- Amazon Customer2024-07-12Good if you have a freezer at the barn.
The ice packs have to be stored in a freezer, luckily my barn does have one. One ice pack goes on either side, then the boot goes on the horse. Pro: Easier than cold hosing Simple to use and put on With both ice packs, you can ice both sides of the leg, or those hard to reach places Adjustable Con: Packs must be frozen- so a freezer is required. The holder for the ice packs is just folded, would be better with Velcro or a zipper If your horse moves or you don't get them tight, the packs can slip out. Overall, it's a good idea and works well for my 16 hand mare and my smaller gelding, since the fit is adjustable. It even fits wrapped around my calves in a pinch. If you have a freezer handy, it's great to have and much less time consuming than cold hosing. I wish they had a 2 pack so I will probably buy another one.
- Brett Shine2024-07-15Nice Fit on Our Thoroughbred Filly
We are using these on our two year old thoroughbred filly who is about a month away from starting her formal race training. She is about 15.2 hands and these fit perfectly. After lunging her in the round pen for about 15 minutes, my wife gets these out of our barn freezer and puts them on. They feel sturdy and well made. My wife swears these boots help her cool down faster in our hot, humid Texas climate. Haillie doesn't mind them and the packs come off in about 20 minutes. This happens two to three times per week. No complaints from my wife or Haillie so far.
- Moving On2024-06-30Deceptive! Only one boot!
When I asked how many boots are included I got this AI generated answer: "The product includes two ice boots, one for each hoof, to provide comprehensive and balanced therapy." WRONG! The box contains ONE wrap and 2 slim gel packs, each gel pack will only go halfway around a horse's leg, so both are needed for one leg. The photos show 2 boots, the reviews and description all mention "BOOTS" (plural) so it is all very deceptive!
- George Gilman2024-06-29Well made
My daughter has owned a horse for a couple of years, which she rides nearly daily. With all the jumping, horses are going to naturally have aches and pains just like humans. Though we don't have an immediate need for this today, I picked it up as I'm sure it will come into use in the near future. This comes as three pieces, two gel packs and a leg wrap that is held on with Velcro straps. The packs can be either heated or cooled, depending on the proper therapy for the horse. My daughter has already thrown these into the freezer so that they will be ready when needed. The construction of the device seems quite nice, with good stitching and plenty of Velcro on the leg wrap to keep things in place. I expect it to perform well and help keep her horse happy and healthy.
- W. Waller2024-07-14Boot not BOOTS.
I like the BOOT. They repeatedly use the plural form of the word boot leading you to believe that you are getting a pair. I'll still give it four stars though because It is well made and I love that it can be used for cold or heat therapy. I rarely have ever had to ice more than one leg, but it has happened. I tried it on and wished that I had it three months ago while I was icing down a suspensory ligament injury every day. This would have made life so much easier than the big soaking boot I was using. I put the packs in the freezer and have left them there so they will be available if and when needed.
- BrandC.2024-06-30Huge fan!! Love this boot
After 20 years of using different types of Ice/therapy boots, I finally found ones that I absolutely love!! The inserts are so easy to put in and take out to freeze or heat, while the cover keeps them clean and protected. The shape is actually the same shape as the leg giving you perfect fit and coverage making contact to even the hard to reach areas. After the first use I ordered more!! Any performance athlete deserves these, they don’t disappoint.

These boots are so cool! They make cooling down a horses leg so much easier! The ice packs are great quality as well as the sling that goes over them. Really easy to use as well. They stay in place on the horse and fit true to size.
- Emily Carver2024-07-03Love the design
Love that this ice boot is contoured to the leg a little more. Seems like it does a better job at connecting by the fetlock than traditional ice boots. The gel packs are easy to insert and remove and I love that you can use them for hot or cold. The Velcro on the boot is good and even with some pawing and dancing around it stayed on. While I like them, I do feel the price point is a little steep for just one boot. If it was a pair for the price, it would make more sense.
- SaltyBrick20102024-07-02Decent for the price
I like the idea, name brand (icehorse) are better, but they’re about 3x the price. The thing that I wish was more thoughtful about this design is that the interior pocket to hold the ice pack is only half the length, and it’s only on the top of the boot. So when used as intended on the lower leg, the ice pack can just slide out the bottom. When used on the jock like I’ve taken photos of, the interior pocket holds the pack in place. Works well for the price, though.
