Makes 2 plugs into 1 which is perfect when you don’t have a power strip or many plugs. Works great has 2 switches for each light. Good size looks great!
- Sandi2024-05-31LOVE this light!
I ordered this light to replace the two dome lights used for daytime and nighttime lighting in a leopard gecko tank. The only disappointing thing is that I didn't know about this option earlier. The dual light box and switches on one cord make it so convenient to switch between lights every day. And no more fumbling around with both lights on the top of the lid when adding food and water to the tank. The bulbs go in and out easily and provide the perfect amount of light. It's such a simple concept that makes a big difference in my daily animal care routine. Highly recommend!

This is super convenient I set my ceramic one to stay on all the time and 85 degrees and set my bulb to turn on only during the day! I love it so much if you have reptiles and want them to have the night and day setup it's perfect for you!
- HTB2024-04-24Perfect for travel
I was looking for a dual lamp for travel. I thought I would try this one because of the small footprint, but I didn’t have high hopes because Ihad never heard of the brand. Turns out this is an excellent choice. It arrived well packaged. The top actually pops off so that the ballasts were stored inside. You position the ballasts in the top and then press the top onto the body. It is a very sturdy apparatus once assembled. It is cosmetically attractive with the black ballasts. There are two arms that pop into the lid giving it nicely balanced support when hanging from a freestanding stand. Or the flat bottom could be placed directly on a screen. The two bulbs fit fine. I would recommend smaller diameter bulbs as there isn’t a ton of room. There is ample room for a uvb bulb and 100 watt heat bulb, which I use for travel. It is rated for 150 both ballasts, which is nice option to have since I use 150 in the home set ups. One thing that is a nice stand out compared to other dual domes I have had or seen is that the 2 ballasts are wired into one plug, with a double toggle switch to control each separately. This is super ideal for travel, because sometimes it’s hard to get even one free wall plug, much less 2. All in all, it’s ideal for travel. It’s easy to disassemble and pack securely, easy to set up and easy to operate. And it’s compact sized! The price is absolutely reasonable given the features. I only recommend it for travel because I have bearded dragons, who need a large enclosure with a 4 foot uvb lamp so that they can get the uv on both the hot and warm side of the enclosure. So I would only have this set up on short trips. There might be other reptiles that could use a small spot of uvb, but I am not familiar with those.
- Michael A Newby2024-05-28Works well. Feel thin but dissipates heat well.
I really like the design of this light as compared to my previous two-bulb system. It looks nice. I immediately thought it felt a bit flimsy, but as I've been using it I've noticed that it dissipates heat a lot better than my old, thicker one, and when the heat and light are turned off it's a lot quicker that I can handle and move the housing than it was with my old one. The only thing that I didn't pay attention to on the listing is that it has a single plug. I typically run UV in one socket and heat in another, where the heat remains on constantly and the UV is on a timer. I can't do that with a single plug, but it's fine. It just means my tank has a more realistic noon/night temperature difference since both sockets are run on the same cord, on a timer.
- Customer Review2024-05-28Good small double bulb hood
I like this double bulb light. I have a ceramic heat bulb on one side and a UVA/B bulb in the other. Pay attention to the size: 8” isn’t too big. This is a good fixture for tropical animals that don’t need a lot of light or heat. In my case, it’s over a crested gecko habitat. The only thing I don’t like is that while each light has its own switch, they are in one combined plug. This means I can’t add a timer to the visible light bulb while leaving the heating bulb on all the time. This means I’m turning the one light on and off manually every day, which I’d prefer not to have to do, and creates some issues when I am traveling and not there every day. The price at around $25 seems fair to me.
- Donna2024-06-26works well good shape
My son has been using this everyday for two moths with no issues. it holds all the different bulbs so he can use whatever he wants or has. good quality good heat and seems dependable.
- Soul Mind Body2024-06-12TurtleTank must have
This was perfect for our little yellow bellied slider. You can have the heat and uvb lights both in the same fixture. Switch allows you to control which one is on at certain times of the day/night. Our turtle is semi aquatic which requires a constant heat source and this did not disappoint. Don’t wait, purchase now
- Jessica2024-05-09Works pretty well
I got this as my night time set up for my beardie. I have another setup for the heat and the uvb for the daytime. This unit is pretty basic. The metal is thin and gets hot really quickly. However the unit does work well without getting too hot. The switch has controls for each side on it. I like the fact that it only has one plug to deal with instead of two. My daytime unit has 2 separate cords, one for each side. I dont really have the outlet space for that many plugs, where I need them to be. Overall it works, it is basic, it is worth the price, nothing is wrong with it at all.
- CNH2024-06-26Surprising value
I bought this for use on a smaller frog tank which has issues with not being able to reach the Goldilocks status - the lamps I have tried are either too large (hot) or too small (cold). This seems to be as close to right as we will be able to get. It is lightweight when compared to main brand hoods, but it seems (so far) to be just as reliable. I actually like the size as it fits the top of my tank perfectly. I do wish there was a timer for each light, or separate plugs. It doesn't matter horribly with frogs (plant light and UVB) but I wouldn't be using it for reptiles that needed lights on different schedules.
