    Shorted out

We bought this item and received it on a Monday. This is what we woke up to on the Friday morning after. Don’t make the mistake and cheap out on something like this. Returned immediately!

    Great Affordable Heat Lamp

In the spider and tarantula hobby there's a lot of conflicting information about heat lamps. Some will encourage you to have a heat pad or lamp for your tarantula, others will warn against it and (correctly) say that a lamp like this will turn your acrylic enclosure into an oven that will cook your poor little friend. Fortunately, I learned that heat lamps aren't necessary for spiders in time to save mine. During the time I used this heat lamp, I learned that it gets quite hot, is very easy to use, and would absolutely be ideal for a reptile or amphibian tank that is GLASS (because heat warps acrylic.) It is much more reasonably priced than anything a pet store will try to sell you.

    Reliable Heat for Happy Reptiles

I recently switched out my old reptile heat lamp for this AZV dome fixture, and I'm really happy with it. It's made of ceramic, so it doesn't get nearly as hot as the metal one I had before. The finish is really nice, both inside and out – it actually looks pretty stylish in my terrarium setup. The cord is a good length, not too short like some of the ones I've had in the past, and it has a convenient on/off switch. This makes it super easy to turn the lamp off at night without having to unplug it. As for performance, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. It works great with a heat bulb and seems to do a good job of dissipating the heat. It feels really solid, not cheap at all. Overall, this AZV lamp is a great replacement for my old heat lamp. It's well-made, easy to use, and most importantly, it keeps my reptiles nice and warm. If you don't mind the steep price, I would definitely recommend it if you're in need of a new heat source for your terrarium! --- Product: AZV 6.7 Inch Deep Dome Reptile Lamp Fixture, Terrarium Light Dome, UVB Heat Basking Lamp Fixture for Amphibian Reptile Terrariums ASIN:

    Works Great

This is a Deep Dome Reptile Lamp (6.7 inches), it uses UVB rays for heating or for basking in reptile terrariums. Set up is very easy. I use it for my bearded dragons. It keeps their cage at the perfect temperature. They also love to spend hours basking under the lamp. It looks great and it works great. This is a top quality, affordable must have for all reptile owners.

    Unsafe

After turning it on it burnt up within an hour. We had a 150W bulb installed. After it burnt up I noticed the switch is marked rated at or less than 100W. No wonder it burned up! I want a refund!

Works well--and doesn't get alarmingly hot on the outside

So, I got this along with a ceramic light-free heat bulb for a DIY incubator for neonatal kittens. Most of the incubators that you can buy (except for the serious several thousand dollar ones that I can't afford) have the light/heat source inside the incubator itself and much too close to the kittens for my comfort. So, I altered the design so that the heat lamp will sit on top of the incubator on a metal grid. It feels much safer to me while still providing a solid heat source for the kittens. I was a bit worried that this light fixture would heat up so much on the casing that it would still seem dangerous. But when I tested it, it does indeed heat up a bit (you don't want to grab it) it wasn't hot enough to heat up the metal grid that I attached to the plastic incubator. So, the goal is nice warm kittens... and not hot enough to hurt them or be a fire hazard. I think this light fixture fits the bill! I haven't had a chance to use it in "field conditions" but I have tested it with a ceramic heat lamp that does not have light (kittens have sensitive eyes--I figure a heat lamp without the light would be the most comfortable for them) and it seems like it's going to work just fine! I will update if my tests were not accurate once it's being used with actual kittens, but this seems like it's going to be a great solution.

    Good small light hood

I got this for my crested gecko. They don’t need lots of light and so I didn’t want to put a large dome light on top of its enclosure. This fixture is great for a small habitat where you don’t need high wattage lights. Be aware that its small size means most of the fluorescent bulbs won’t fit without sticking out the bottom unless they are very small. I have a 13w fluorescent bulb in it now and it sticks out about 1/2” from the bottom. This is only a problem if you are going to rest the fixture on the top of the habitat. The price at $25 seems overpriced for what you get but not ridiculously. If you can get it for under $20 it’s a solid buy.

    Works like it should

Everything about this lamp is great. Just screw in your bulb and plug it in, size it true, great price and it works like the expensive ones at the pet store. Highly recommended for your critters

    Works great

Rocky, my bearded dragon, has found a new favorite spot in the house, and it’s all thanks to the latest terrarium heater I’ve installed. As someone who’s always on the lookout for the best care products for my scaly friend, I was intrigued by the rave reviews of this heater and decided to give it a try. From the get-go, the installation process was a breeze. The heater’s sleek design meant it fit perfectly into Rocky’s terrarium without any hassle. It’s been a week since I turned it on, and the consistent warmth it provides has made Rocky’s habitat more comfortable than ever. He’s been basking under the heat, showing signs of contentment and increased activity. In summary, this terrarium heater has exceeded my expectations. It’s not just a product; it’s a game-changer for any bearded dragon owner looking to provide their pet with a cozy and safe environment. Rocky seems to agree, judging by his relaxed demeanor and the extra spring in his step. It’s a purchase I’d recommend to any fellow reptile enthusiast in a heartbeat.
