The instructions encourage you to use the DayBetter app to set up the smart lightbulbs, and they are right! I pondered whether to add yet another app on my phone, but the DayBetter app makes set-up a cinch. After the usual, choosing a password and such, the app quickly located the smart bulbs. Then, you can go to the "My" section of the app, and link the phone with both Amazon Alexa and Google Home. It took seconds to accomplish the links. Now I can tell Alexa "Turn on living room 1" or "Turn on living room 2" to turn on a particular light, or "Turn on living room" to turn on all the lights in the room. This is handy because I'm an early riser and can turn on a light so I can make my way down our stairs. Yes, I verified that you can make the lights turn on all sorts of crazy colors, but I will not have much use for that. I keep the smart bulb set at a bright, warm white.

The build quality would be a 5/5 as would the light output once you finally get them to work. We aren't sure if there are different versions of the firmware or they use different chip sets in some of them as other reviewers had no problems at all while a handful of us had what amounted to a multiple hour setup. Once they are setup they work great. We had a lot of fun changing the colors in our playroom and once connected to the Echo/Alexa devices they haven't lost the connection. As long as your Echo/Alexa devices are all on the same account you obviously only have to add them once.

This is a great pair of smart bulbs. They are very easy to install. You just replace your usual bulb with this one. Then you download the app to your phone connect to the bulb with Bluetooth. Then the fun begins. From your phone you can changed the color, and how bright the light is. One nice feature is you can set up times for when you want the light to come on and turn off. The only down side and you can only set up 1 set of timers. It would have been nice if you can set up multiple sets, so that you can have it turn on and off at different times on different days. Maybe during the week you want it on and off and different times then on the weekends. so that is my only gripe with them. Over all I am very happy with them and love changing things up from time to time. Or maybe setting the mood for movie nights stuff like that.

Right out of the box they do immediately light up and easily link to their personal app via bluetooth. They're very bright and have vibrant, saturated colors. The bulbs themselves are plastic, not glass. If this is all you need then they're pretty decent, though their app seems a bit scammy (you need to provide your email address to sign into the app). Where things get tricky is hooking up to Alexa... Getting them to sync to Alexa took some trial and error for a few hours. Their app immediately learns the Alexa skill and connects, but the bulbs do not. At first they seem to indicate you need to login to another site to get your bulbs synced within Alexa itself, but the logins repeatedly say invalid. Seems you can skip that step and just manually go into each bulb to connect to your wifi network (don't love that..) then Alexa will see them. It took a couple tries and one of the bulbs connected but the second bulb just refused to connect to wifi. After resetting it and resyncing it 4 times I turned that bulb off and gave up. About 3 hours later that rogue bulb turned itself on and I noticed it automatically connected itself to the wifi..... interesting. And then at that point my Alexa could spot it. Hooking them up to my Alexa routines also came with a small amount of jank. If I wanted to turn a bulb on + 100% brightness + magenta color all at once, the bulb just wouldn't respond. I have to manually add each task as its own instruction line in order for them to respond to my typical "Alexa Lights On" or "Alexa Get Ready for Bed" voice routines. Not a deal breaker, but I own a few brands of smart bulbs and this was the first brand I've had this issue with. Overall they work but aren't the best I've used.

You must download an app on your phone to be able to use them and get their full function. The app changes color, brightness and also can turn them on and off. They are good to use for parties or porch lights and when you want to set a mood.

This was so easy to set up that even with me being older and new to this type of tech it was no problem. I sat this up in our dairy goat barn because I wanted to stop leaving the lights on but also wanted to be able to see out to it at night when needed. I can turn this light on through the app on my phone and am able to see out there without even leaving the house. I also love the fact I can change the colors so that at certain times of the year I can either have it on bright full daylight mode or can use a softer color as needed. It was even more fun to sync it with the music on my phone when I am out there working. It can also be setup on a timer to come on and shut off at set times every day.

I've got several different smart bulbs now and this one is no different from the others as far as set up goes. It arrived quickly and installed in minutes. Downloaded the app and following the instructions had the bulb working and integrated with Alexa in minutes. About the worst thing I can say is I had to download their app instead of using the Smart Home app that many of these bulbs seem to use now. Some of the newer models on offer now don't even require the use of a proprietary app and integrate directly into Alexa or Google. Regardless, it works as advertised and I'm quite happy with these bulbs.

I was wary when I ordered this item as I had previously had troubles with smart bulbs from lesser-known companies. My smart house utilizes smart bulbs through Amazon Alexa, and setup for these bulbs was not 100% seamless, but after re-reading the directions, I was able to get all bulbs set up within 20 minutes. Downloading an app was required, but after setting the bulbs up in that app, I was able to use the Amazon Alexa appt to finish. The bulbs work great, no issues.
