My carpenter square is one of my most used tools in my shop. I saw this, and realized it had a few upgrades that I'd have liked for my usages. Initial impressions are really good on this. The build quality seems great, and it goes together easy. I like the marks for scribing. However, the holes are VERY thin, so you'll need a fine point to use them. I also really like the positioning pin to "lock in" specific angles. It took me a bit to realize that there was a place that it could screw in to store, which was a big plus. That said, I'd take a star off because the "storage spot" for the pin interferes with the side sitting flush on the surface. It HAS TO BE removed to properly fit square on the board. It would have been so simple to have the pin smaller, or located elsewhere. I may even grind this down to not worry about it. Definitely worth picking up, just a minor annoyance.

It does some thing's a speed square is not so good at, like wrapping the line around a 4x4. It also stands up by itself which helps sometimes. I have quite a few different squares, mostly they tend to live at a workbench. The Stanley square is good for things this square is not good for, etc This square does not fit in the tool pouch very well, as small as it is.

This is a nifty little square. You can use it to draw lines along a board with pretty fine-grained precision: 3/16th, 7/16th, 11/16th, 15/16th, and 1 3/16th, 1 7/16th, 1 11/16th, 1 15/16th, and so on. Quite a few choices. You can use it to mark out angles, and conveniently there's a little screw thingy that keeps the square stable while you draw. This screw has a permanent place in the square itself so no worries about it getting lost. There is a 16ths scale on one side that goes to 4 12/16th and another 1/4ths scale that goes to 3 1/4. You can also make marks along the sides of your board which is hard to do with the usual framing squares. This one drapes along two sides of the board at 90 degrees; they call it "drawing 3d lines", which is fair. It seems sturdy and solid. The measurements along the sides of the square seem perfectly accurate. The "drawing line ruler" on the other hand is off by a 32nd, and the angles off by a bit less than 1 degree. I checked these using a Chesterman Sheffield drafting ruler that I know is accurate, and an iGaging digital protractor. Truthfully though, the sort of accuracy you get with this square isn't bad at all. Usually people spend a lot more for absolute pinpoint accuracy, so at the price this is really a steal. You wouldn't use this if you were a fine furniture professional (you'd use a Starrett and spend a lot of money) but for amateur use this is a really nice square with a lot of features; I can see it helping out in a lot of projects. Five glowing stars.

I work with both plastic and wood. What I really love about this multi-angle ruler is the ability to mark both the top and the side of a piece of wood, like a 2x4 for example. It allows making cut lines much easier. The L-angle screws onto the back of the 45 degree angle, but it is easy to remove to allow for other uses of the triangle. There is a line-making template on the bottom of the 45-degree angle, but it can be easily removed so that you can use either L-angle or the triangle separately. The entire unit is made from anodized aluminum, and feels very smooth and very strong. I've used it for a couple days now and it is easy to use and works like a charm. If I had any complaint, it would be that the description claims it is 'easy to fit in your pocket!'. When the L angle is attached, I can't imagine anyone being able to fit it in a pocket. But I'll give them some slack on that; it is a well made, sturdy tool, and I'm happy to add it to my tool collection. I give this one five stars!
- The Do It Yourself World2024-07-09Great for daily wood working
I will probably be using this every day in the wood shop. I love how I can mark on the top and sides of a board at the same time instead of moving my square by hand. I like the angles and the ability to mark wood precisely and quickly with the angles. This will also help me a lot. Be aware though that the drop in pin only works for a few of their marked angles. The rest you will have to hold by hand. This is made of thick aluminum and should last without any issues. You do need a very very sharp pencil to mark lines through the tiny holes though. Mine will not fit most of the time. I have to get a pencil sharpener in the shop and keep a round pencil on hand because the common wood workers pencil will not work here.
- GrizzlyC1372024-06-30Great tool but the pin for finding angles is about 1mm wider than the frame
Almost perfect! Smaller than your average speed square, but a very helpful and practical size! Perfect for drawing long parallel lines on lumber for rip cuts or simply for judging depth / reference... angles are correct and easy to use. The only thing that annoys me is the little pin screw you use to set it on an angle other than 45° is just barely larger than the thickness of the frame,. So unless you unscrew it from its storage spot everytime you use it your measurements will be thrown off by about 1mm or if you were drawing a parallel line it will have a 1mm wave in it *face palm* it's simple enough to unscrew the pin to avoid this, but after a while chances are your going to forget to put it back and end up loosing it... it wouldn't have been difficult to manufacturer that pin just slightly smaller to avoid this all together, I'm docking 1 star over that! Everything else about it is great tho! Absolutely love it! Unfortunately it won't be seeing much jobsite use due that pin but it will get plenty of use in my workshop at least lol.

Extremely handy for marking cuts. Setting angles for cutting lumber is easy and fast, just put the pin in the hole for the angle you want and mark it with a pencil. Marking lines at a specific distance from the edge of a board is just as easy, providing you have a mechanical pencil or shar lead that fits through the indexed holes. The fit and finish of this tool is excellent - everything goes together perfectly and looks great when assembled. This tool would be great for small wood working projects like bird houses and other items that need to be laid out with high accuracy. I'm very happy with the quality and functionality of this layout tool.
- Glenn2024-06-28Really Nice - Accurate
The Aiwons 3D Multi-Angle Measuring Ruler/carpenters square comes laser etched so you won’t have to worry about the lettering/numbering wearing off over time. I found the square to be accurate. I liked that when you are drawing a line across the face of the board, you are able to continue the line down the edge of the board without having to reposition the square. I found that the smaller style mechanical pencil works best to use when using the scribing holes on the square. There is also a tapped hole on the square to store the locating pin in when not in use. The only thing I would have liked better is for it to have been a larger size but other than that, I really like this measuring ruler/carpenter square.
- Susie2024-07-02Great addition to my time saving measure and marking carpentry tools!
For some reason I had thought this tool would be the size of my name brand speed square. This Aiwons 3D Multi-Angle Measuring Ruler may be small, but it is mighty. I really like the many handy ways that I can use this to make quick work of marking at accurate intervals. Being able to set it for accurate angles from 22.5 to 90 degrees is helpful in so many wood working projects. As others have mentioned the pin is a bit of a nuisance. This is a serious little tool made of blue anodized aluminum not plastic. Perfect for jobsite work, I am keeping it in my carryall tool case.
- Tim Chambers2024-07-12It is small.
This is a small square, and I mean small. For me though the size is a great thing. The scribe holes are unusable because of the size and that really is the only downfall. It works great for my needs though.
