Ever since I saw one of these tools on television - I have wanted one. It is a substantial tool. There is nothing cheap feeling about it. It lets you work in tight spaces. The included sockets are metric. The square drive is 3/8". I had sixteen 1/2" bolts to unbolt. I used one of my deepwell sockets. Out of 16 bolts, 12 of them were handled easily by the wrench by simply placing the socket on the head. 4 of the bolts were too tight for the motor to move them. It occurred to me that I could simply use the wrench as a hand operated wrench to break the bolt loose. Then use the motor to remove the nuts. Problem solved. The unit comes with a 3/8" to 1/4" adaptor. This means all my 1/4" sockets suddenly become energized. The 20V battery pack provides plenty of "drive" time. Under load there was no evidence of gear slippage. I have a complete set of 3/8" drive extensions and sockets. They are very compatible with this tool. My metric sockets also work just fine. This is a well-engineered tool that will make arthritic hands and fingers very happy. I also have a 3/8" to 1/2" adaptor. This may allow 1/2" sockets to be mounted. BUT - be very careful not to overstress the tool. Once you get used to its capabilities you will know what you can do without damaging the drive unit. With the 20V battery pack attached, the tool is balanced well. This is a good tool.

This is a medium duty 3/8" drive powered ratchet. It is not an impact wrench and doesn't have that kind of power that you need to change tires and other high torque tasks. It is not made for that. But it does have plenty of torque for most things that you would use a 3/8" drive ratchet for, including assembly of various items, removing or tightening bolts when doing an oil change, etc. I really love that it uses existing batteries that I already have. I know I always have Dewalt batteries charged and ready. It works nicely, comes with a few sockets, and is ready to go once you add the battery.

I have many DeWalt tools, but there is no DeWalt battery powered ratchet wrench so this is a good addition to my workshop. A DeWalt 20v battery works. My 2 AH battery adds little to the weight of the tool which is not heavy to use. The speed is easy to control. It came with a few sockets, but I have plenty of sockets. It feels good in my hand. I will bu using this tool frequently.
