- Sunshine State Survival2024-09-10Very bright and last forever
I had quite a few of these put up in the back yard, not only for security purposes, but because when I let my dog out at night, there was a part of the back yard that was unlit. These were perfect because as soon as he would walk by, these would light up and stay on for about 30 seconds, then shut off until there was movement again. The solar charging is awesome and reliable. I never had any problem with these. It lights up a good amount of space and the lights are bright!

It's hard to say how durable these will be, I just got them a couple days ago. HMCITY Solar Lights Outdoor 120 LED is the product in question. The lights came fairly well packaged and in good condition visually. And there was sufficient charge in the batteries of each to test them, and they work. Pros: Compact housings, 3 light modes + Off, lightweight. Cons: Rear mounted switch may cause issues controlling. Black housing may not be good in the sun. The control switch is on the back, covered with what appears to be a silicone rubber weather shield. The light flashes to indicate which lighting mode. First is On (one flash), bright, will stay on until it goes dead or the sun comes up. Second is Dim (two flashes), switches to Bright via motion sensor. Might work out, I'll try it. Third is Off (three flashes), switches on Bright via motion sensor. Another button press and it's Off completely (no flashes). The lights are meant to attach with screws or similar, two center-keyed slots are provided at the top flange. You have to select the light mode before hanging; no big deal if you install screws so you can use the keys (wider part of the slots) and then snug the screws so the lights stay put. Alternatively you could use nails but you'll need to pull one or both to access the switch, or hang them on some sort of hook. If these light don't last at least 6 months I'll update this review.

I purchased these to put at the entrance of my driveway, which is off a backroad and very dark at night. They are easy to install. I set them on automatic sensor to save battery life and they work great. They are bright and illuminate the entrance to my property and driveway just enough when someone comes in. They turn off automatically after a few seconds. I plan to get more to illuminate other dark spots on my property.
- JD2024-08-27OK - convenient, inexpensive - but some big limitations
These lights are a convenient low cost solution for some situations. I got these to illuminate a side yard where the dogs can do their business at night - they charge all day and I only need illumination a few minutes a couple times each evening. Even for this narrow usage, there are a couple important limitations with this product. 1) In the "turn on with movement" mode, the lights only stay on for approx 10-15 seconds and then go back off unless you are dancing around more or less directly in front of it. The 15 second timer doesn't make sense to me - why not a minute? - are they worried the battery will die? If so, then the "come on at dusk and stay on" mode would be pretty useless. 2) The lights are not as bright as I expected - they conspicuously avoid any rating for lumens in their product description - leaving one to try to imagine how bright 120 LEDs would be. They also give no hint how long they will actually stay illuminated in each mode once the battery is fully charged. Hmmmm... No way would I use these for any sort of home security lighting - just not robust and reliable enough. That being said, they are inexpensive and will work OK for my situation - although my neighbors may have growing concerns why I'm waving my arms wildly in front of this light each night.
- Sandi2024-09-06Bright and easy to install
We had a prowler on our front porch. Admittedly it was dark there, bushes to high and patio light malfunctioned. I put two on the metal posts. I did not want to drill the posts so I attached these with zip ties. They are very secure and I can access the button on the back to change modes by just lifting it up. I do the same on my 6ft vinyl fence in the back yard. Great product for areas with no electricity. Need more on the left side of the house.

Compact, easy to mount, very bright, great range on sensor, shuts off within seconds of motion stopping so no wasted battery, good value.
- Sonicmoon2024-09-05So solid and reliable
I bought 2 of these over a year ago and they've worked so well in all weather - and I live in extreme heat and cold. The switch on the back cycles through the 3 modes well, and the modes don't change on their own. You must select the mode prior to mounting. The solar cell and battery seem to be much higher quality than other brands and the brightness is quite excellent. The motion sensing is not overly sensitive but reliably functions. This *is* my go-to brand.

They are plenty bright and easy to setup. Nothing bad to say! Small in size but big in performance. Use that for a Tagline!

I bought these lights to replace two that I have which are no longer holding a charge. The lights are very similar to the old ones - in fact the are almost identical looking lights. I suspect they came from the same factory in China and just sold under a different manufacture's name. The only real difference I could see is the first pair I purchased in 2019 uses a slider switch to set one of the three modes of operation where as these use a button you need to press. Regardless, they are both nice lights. I have one above my garage door and one near my back door. I run them both in Mode 3, which is to come on and stay on for a short duration when motion is detected. They put off plenty of light too. Enough to easily see your surroundings for security purposes or do things like get groceries out of your trunk at night. They have strong plastic frames and a decent sized solar panel to capture light during the daytime. As I mentioned the mode is set by pressing a button on the back side which causes the light to blink a number of times. The number of blinks corresponds to the set mode i.e. 1, 2, 3 or Off - simple enough. I did not realize the battery is replaceable until I read the instructions. I was able to replace the battery in one of my old units with one I had laying around so now have three operating lights and one spare. To be fair I purchased my first pair of lights in 2019 and the solar panel is pretty faded, so not sure how efficient the old one is...although it does appear to be working fine. To be honest the light has been pretty weak for over a year so the batteries need to be replaced every three to four years based on my experience....still not too bad. Very pleased with these lights for the price and would buy again. Although next time I will just be buying new rechargeable batteries.
