Very interesting piece of history

This is a very interesting movie about events which happened in my childhood and deals with the professionalism of an attorney, the failure of the American culture to understand how negociation works. I enjoyed the fact that it was filmed at real locations when possible. It also proves the adage: Never do a bad job well, you might get more of them.

Released in 2015, still holds up as a suspenseful movie. Love Tom Hanks. He doesn't disappoint.

Once again, Steven Spielberg & his elected actor Tom Hunks, made together a very fine reminiscence of post -WWII political complex.

I loved this movie and the performances of the key actors. Being based on a true story was a huge plus!

Bridge of Spies is a very good Cold War drama. In a age of big superhero movies it is good to see a movie centered around a real life story. Spielberg's direction is top notch and Tom Hanks is good as always. Playing the Russian spy is Mark Rylance who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor (although I still think Sylvester Stallone should have won for playing Rocky Balboa in Creed). Overall a very good movie.

I have come to not much like films "based on actual events" because most of them are duller than watching paint dry. So this one is better than most. But still boring. I think this is a function of the type of these films: they really do try to replicate the actual story, and, since that is a real-world story, it is simply not very exciting. If you are expecting some sort of spy movie -- forget it. As a recreation of the period it may be more successful. I would have been 12-14 at the time and so shielded from much of this (except the fear induced by "duck and cover" films, that I remember). The only real advantage is that the protagonist, being American, is allowed to show emotion, something the Brit in another film I saw some time ago (/The Courier/?) was allowed to do. It is, however, a well-done film and, if you actually like this sort of thing, you should enjoy this one.
