I moved recently and decided to replace an old Pioneer VSX5900S to take advantage of some of the newer technology and to complement my new 75” Samsung HDTV. Since I was in a new space, I thought why not just build a system like I really want? After lots of research on in wall/ceiling speakers, I narrowed it down to an entry price point speaker system, a middle price point system, and a high end system. Since the Silver Ticket speakers had consistently high ratings, I figured I'd try them with the intent to return them if they weren't up to par. Long story short, these guys are keepers! I have the 82C in the rear, the 82S2C up front, the 5252AC in the center anchored by a pair of Polk PSW10's running off of a Sony STRDH590. Sub-$1000 that sounds AWESOME! The Silver Ticket speakers sound incredible, were super easy to install (especially if you have a Dremel or RotoZip or similar power tool), look great, and sound really good for a system that in total costs less than $400. They have realistic sound, not too bright and not too boomy. I would definitely recommend investing in a subwoofer, but even if you don't, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the lows you can get out of these speakers. In short, the Silver Ticket speakers are winners!

Based on the reviews on Amazon, I decided to give these speakers a shot, while shopping for in-ceiling speakers in my new house. While price wise, they were one of the cheapest, the reviews noted little to no issues with the performance. Installation and packaging issues are minor to me, because they are easily fixable. I considered the followings before purchase: Polk audio: $75/Sp Micca: $41/Sp (Previously owned and loved them) Monoprice: $53/Sp Silver Ticket: $31/Sp I also considered angled speakers, which were slightly higher in price for all. But, being in-ceiling speakers, I wasn’t too concerned about sound direction (satisfied with pivoting tweeter) and more interested in sound showers. My set up: 4 in-ceiling (Front –R & L, Rear R & L) and 1 center speaker (Underneath the TV). Floor sub. Used with my Pioneer VSX 524 (still running strong and was used with previous settings as well). Price: Silver Ticket 82C was the least expensive, yet with high performance reviewed speakers. So I figured, if they don’t work too well, I’ll buy Micca (Previously owned and performed well for 3 years, till the sale of the house), which will still equal to Polk audio price. But for now, the money I save, I can invest in a floor sub to add to my surround sound system. Installation: All of the speakers came with everything in the package. No issues with shipping (Amazon Prime Rocks). I used a makeshift bowl with foam padding to go on top of the speakers as enclosure, to control the vibration and spill effect upstairs (learned from previous installation). Besides the maneuvering to place them right in between joists due to corner TV location (Entirely my issue due to the shape of the room, and has nothing to do with the speakers), the actual installation of the speakers were a breeze. Product quality: The speaker seemed pretty solid and heavy. The cloth like material behind the grill was a great touch to keep dust away. Tweeters construction seemed solid, but wouldn’t play around with it too much. Performance: The speakers sounded clean. Tweeter’s weren’t too prominent as Micca (previously used). But overall sound quality and level was great, even at high volume. It sure was louder compared to my Micca (same 8”). Music, Sports and movies sounded good with the different settings. Overall: Very happy with the initial results. Hopefully it will hold up the performance for a while. For now… Fully deserved 5 STAR.

First, I have owned and been using these speakers for about 2 months now. I bought these speakers looking to replace my on-wall Polk Audio RM85 surround speakers. When I built my house, I had home theater pre-wired in my walls knowing one day I would install my own in-wall speakers. I bought these based on the Amazon reviews and figured for the price, It couldn't be bad. First impression was the build quality. The speakers are solid and feel well built. I bought the 6.5" woofer / tilt tweeter model. Each speaker came in its own box and contained the cut out template. I simply traced it on my wall, cut it out, connected the audio wire, placed the speaker in the wall and tightened down the perimeter screws built into the speaker frame. It was that easy. Audio Quality: I was using Polk Audio RM85 on wall speakers which had 2 inch woofers and 1/2 inch static tweeters. Once I got the speakers installed and calibrated with my new Denon receiver, the difference in movie/song quality was night and day. I set my receiver to "large" speakers to hear their full potential and was impressed. With the sub woofers off, the speakers output an energetic sound signature. There was plenty of balanced mid range and high end support along with a little thump, not a ton, but more than enough for most people. The bass was balanced and full, id say 90-120htz was its prime response frequency. An upright bass in jazz music was felt through out the room where as the low sub-bass of electronic music was kind of there but not in your face. I then set my receiver to "small" speakers and calibrated with my subwoofers (twin 12's) and the whole room came to life! I bought this model to match the wattage output of my receiver and its amazing how much detail I now hear in music and movies. I like that they have a 3 position volume switch under the directional tweeter, I found that leaving it at 0 worked for me, my ceilings are double height in my room so it works out best to have a little more. I have had these speakers up pretty loud, for you Denon users around volume 70, which is really high and the speakers do not flutter or cloud over, really impressive for the price. I uploaded a few pictures for you all to see of the install and what not. I hope this review helps, I would buy more of these of if I had the in-wall wiring, I would love a Dolby Atmos set up one day =)
- Dravkwn2016-09-20Well worth the money. The sound quality will shock you.
I wanted my Klipsch speakers back so I purchased a set of these for my wife's art studio. I was concerned that she would notice the difference in quality but I was extremely surprised by the clarity of the sound these speakers. Music sounds excellent and you can crank the volume pretty high without distortion. She also listens to a lot of audio books and you can clearly hear the reader. There is a decent amount of bass, but not wall shaking of course. If you want that, you will need to add a sub. The speakers are nice and heavy and they seem to be well made. I am not a super audiophile, but I have invested in a ton of different speakers over the years and I do know what a cheap speaker feels and sounds like. They do come with a cut-out template for the wall, as well as pretty decent instructions for installation. Oh, and the mounting system is pretty genius. Instead of trying to find a stud behind the wall, you will try to land in between them. One note, the sound "behind" the speaker is fairly loud as well. It was not an issue where I installed them, but if you place them in an interior wall with no sound suppression, you are probably going to hear them clearly in the opposite room.
- Buyer2022-06-05Worked great, look great,
Easy to install, just make sure you know exactly where your wall studs are and the clearance between them. Measure twice, measure again, cut once. Using the installation template, You’ll need about 3/4” of sheetrock on each side for the screw mechanisms on the rear of the speakers to fully turn and allow the speaker to be tightened up against the wall. Don't cut the sheetrock out flush with a stud… Packaging was great, well protected. We bought 2 of the 8” singles for left/right channels and the dual 5.25” for the center channel. During installation, due to odd stud widths on the wall where I wanted to place the right speaker, I had to shave off the 3 anchor post on the rear of the speaker flush with a sawzall, then I just used the same screws/holes from the front of the speaker, and drilled them straight into the wall stud, which worked fine. Total installation for all 3 speakers took about 2hrs from start to finish. Hooked them up to our Pioneer amp and they sound pretty darn good for our 5.1 setup. I definitely like these being flush mounted in the wall, compared to the surface mount yamaha setup we had previously. Looks much cleaner. You can paint them, but our living room trim work is white, so I’m fine with leaving the speakers white. Yes, you can spend WAY much More money on speakers if you want to. These did the job really well for us.
- Sundar M.2019-09-03Angled in-ceiling speakers that provide superb sound!
Setup up a "home theater" in a new enclosed patio which is mostly surrounded by glass hence wall mounted speakers were not an option. Chose the Sliver Ticket in-ceiling speakers that were angled - 5252AC for the center and 82AC for surround and rear. Decided to setup Dolby Atmos 7.1.2 though the recommendation is not to use ceiling speakers for the 7, just for the 2. Used 82C for the 2 height speakers. These provide vertical downward sound according to Dolby Atmos 7.1.2 spec. The wiring was done during construction using 14 AWG speaker wire from Amazon. I installed the speakers. Installation was convenient - 4 screws for the round speakers and 6 screws for center speaker. Have been using these speakers for the last 2 weeks along with Pioneer VSX-LX504 receiver that has hook up for Dolby Atmos 7.1.2. Like the sound. Although the center channel is in the ceiling, does not feel like the sound is coming from up high. It appears like the sound is coming from behind the projection screen when seated at the viewing distance. It must be the angled speaker. Getting closer to the screen (like 3 to 4 feet), the sound source moves higher as expected. The pros are sound effect, price and installation convenience. The con might be the weight of the speakers and their height because of the angle. The 82C is thinner compared to 82AC. Recommend the speakers!
- E.Lopez2023-04-26Easy to install and sound great
It comes with masking templates, if you want to paint them to match your room and simple, spring connectors for the wires. The installation clips are under the grill so they make for a seamless look once installed. I installed these as part of a 7.2 speaker system and they sound great. I really like the fact that you can aim the tweeters to direct the sound a little bit more behind you in the surround sound application. Edit: 4/28/23 spelling and grammar mistakes
- MachMyDay2019-02-25Great sounding speakers. Inexpensive upgrade for 5.1 or 7.1 Dolby ATMOS effects.
These speakers were a great upgrade from my previous speakers. I replaced some Pyle 6.5 inch speakers in my home theater with these 8 inch speakers. What a huge improvement in sound. The Pyles could not keep up with the output of my Amp which is driving my front tower speakers. With the volume at a decent level, they sounded terrible. These speakers keep pace with my towers, and sound great. I hung them in a suspended acoustical tile ceiling and backed them with fire retardant Roxul insulation. I set the crossover to -3db and they sounded better to me. I used my Yamaha Amos YPAO feature to balance the surround sound output. I’m extremely pleased with the sound out of my system now. I also added a pair of the Silver Ticket 6.5 inch speakers as ATMOS / LEFT RIGHT surround. This really fills the room with great sound for movies and music. I probably should have used the 8 inch speakers for these surrounds, but the still sound fine.
- D. Hagemeier2019-02-09Adequate But a Bit Lacking in the Low End
I've installed quality background music speakers in the ceilings of several of our small hair salons - usually four or six speakers depending on the salon size and layout. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I expect excellent fidelity. When my usual go-to speaker jumped in price (since lowered back to normal), I tried the 82C speakers instead. Installation was easy in my suspended tile ceiling. I left the tweeters "as is" (no need to pivot them), and I set the high pass rolloff filter to "0 db." I'm a little disappointed in the results. The sound clarity is fine, but our music is missing the deeper bass that the Yamaha speakers give me. The difference is not objectionable, but the same music sounds less alive and full-range coming from the 82C speakers. I'm using identical music sources and amplifiers, and the ceiling construction and building height is identical. So the difference must be in the speakers. The Yamaha speakers are a bit more expensive - $100 per pair vs. $80 for the 82C at this time of this writing, but I'll go back to the Yamaha speakers next time. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00097CUIE
- Samson Wick2022-09-07Sound quality is a deal breaker
I attempted to use one of these in my theater to avoid the necessity of an acoustically transparent screen. Having a center channel located in the ceiling is suboptimal but this particular speaker seemed to have a lot of good reviews so I gave it a shot. This is being driven by an Anthem receiver and I was using it to replace an Infinity Primus PC 250 center channel - same basic specs. The audio quality issues were immediately evident. The plastic box created an almost bullhorn-like echo effect. It didn't matter what angle I set the speakers at, the hollow echo quality overshadowed the whole speaker. The speaker didn't have any problems with distortion or clarity by itself, it was just that box creating the echo effect. Installation instructions leave a lot to be desired - there's no illustration explaining how to remove the grille - something you have to do to install or adjust the speaker. The provided tool does a very poor job of helping you to pry the grille off. The instructions don't explain how to adjust the speaker angle - you have to loosen two screws on either side of the box. Mounting is kind of intuitive, but the instructions could have illustrated better what's going on. I think with some refinement this might be work-able but for now I'm sending it back and returning to my original plan to use an acoustically transparent screen.
